What personal data we collect

Ignite baseline

When you unlock the free Ignite baseline, we collect your first name and email address. This data is stored securely via Listmonk (our self-hosted email service) and used to deliver access to the baseline and, with your consent, send occasional emails about contAIn™.

Legal basis: consent.

The answers you enter into the Ignite baseline questions are stored in your browser's local storage only. We do not collect, transmit, or store your answers on any server.

Activate purchase

When you purchase Activate, payment will be processed by Stripe. We will receive your name, email, and transaction record so we can deliver your purchase and handle support queries. We do not store your card details.

The Learning Curve waitlist

If you join The Learning Curve waitlist, we collect your name and email address so we can notify you when the community launches.

Activate waitlist

If you join the Activate waitlist, we collect your name and email address so we can notify you when Activate launches.

Enterprise enquiry

If you submit an enterprise enquiry via email, we collect your name, organisation, role, email, and a description of your requirements so we can respond to your enquiry.

Social media

We use a self-hosted social media scheduling tool (Postiz) to publish content to our social media channels (e.g. LinkedIn, X/Twitter, Instagram). This tool connects to our business accounts via OAuth and does not collect, store, or process any visitor or subscriber personal data.

Analytics

This site uses Cloudflare Analytics, a privacy-first analytics service provided by Cloudflare as part of our CDN. Cloudflare Analytics does not use cookies, does not track individual users, and does not collect personally identifiable information. All data is aggregated and anonymous.

No cookie consent is required for this service.

Legal basis: legitimate interest (understanding aggregate site usage).

Voice dictation

The Ignite baseline offers an optional voice dictation feature. This uses your browser's built-in speech recognition engine (e.g. Google for Chrome, Apple for Safari). Audio is processed by your browser provider, not by us. We do not store, transmit, or have access to any audio data. You are asked for consent before using this feature.

Who we share data with

We share data only with the following third-party services, each for a specific purpose:

• Listmonk (self-hosted) — email delivery and list management
• Stripe — payment processing (when Activate launches)
• Cloudflare — DNS, CDN, and privacy-first analytics (no cookies, no personal data)
• IONOS — SMTP email relay
• Postiz (self-hosted) — social media scheduling and publishing

We do not sell your data to anyone.

How long we keep data

• Email list: until you unsubscribe
• Payment records: 6 years (required by UK tax law)
• Analytics data: none stored (Cloudflare Analytics is aggregated and cookieless)
• Enterprise enquiries: 12 months

Your rights under UK GDPR

You have the right to:

• Access the personal data we hold about you
• Request correction of inaccurate data
• Request deletion of your data
• Withdraw consent at any time
• Object to processing based on legitimate interest
• Request data portability
• Lodge a complaint with the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO)

Data security

We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your personal data against unauthorised access, loss, or misuse. All data is transmitted over encrypted (HTTPS) connections. Our email service (Listmonk) is self-hosted on infrastructure we control.

International transfers

Some of our third-party providers (Stripe, Cloudflare) are based in the United States. Where data is transferred outside the UK, these providers maintain appropriate safeguards in compliance with UK GDPR.

Children

This website and its products are not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 13.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The "last updated" date at the top of this page will reflect any changes.

This cookie policy explains what cookies are used on contain.digital and how you can manage them.

Cookies

This site does not set any analytics cookies. The only cookies that may be set are strictly necessary ones from Stripe (when you interact with a payment form) and from Cloudflare (for security and performance). These do not require your consent under UK PECR.

Local storage

This site uses browser local storage (not cookies) to:

• Remember whether you have unlocked the Ignite baseline
• Save your Ignite baseline answers locally in your browser
• Remember your voice dictation consent preference
• Remember whether the exit popup has been shown

This data never leaves your browser and is not transmitted to any server.

Analytics

This site uses Cloudflare Analytics, which does not set any cookies and does not collect personal data. No analytics cookies are used on this site.

Third-party cookies

• Stripe — may set cookies when you interact with the payment form to process transactions securely and prevent fraud.
